Traditional Music Session
Braes | 3 pm | Free

Join local traditional musicians for a relaxed session of tunes.

Duke of Portland
Art Bar | 9pm | FREE

Angus band the Duke of Portland return to the Art Bar for a Fest’n’Furious special. The band have supported Salsa Celtica and Shooglenifty, played Danny Kyle’s Open Stage at Celtic Connections and contributed to the line-up at various festivals around the country. If you’re looking for over-romanticised Celtic music you’ll not find it here. However if you’re after foot stomping, traditionally inspired sounds with a pedigree punk edge, you should enjoy a night of entertainment with the very original, very funny Duke of Portland.

Hunger Mountain Boys & The Earl Brothers
Woodlands Hotel | 7.30 pm | £10 / £9 (£3 student standby subject to availability)
A Fest’n’Furious and Out of the Woods Acoustic Music Club production.

All the way from America, we welcome roots-of-country kings, The Hunger Mountain Boys & bluegrass sensations, The Earl Brothers.

Hunger Mountain BrothersEarl Brothers

The Hunger Mountain Boys are renowned for their gift to crank out “something nobody does better”. That unique playing style has won them appearances at festivals across America, and theatre slots alongside legendary performers such as Taj Mahal, Del McCoury, Doc Watson and Ralph Stanley. They pay homage to Country’s best brother duos and sprinkle other gems throughout the set with tributes to The Delmore Brothers, Jimmie Rodgers and Charlie Poole.

The Earl Brothers have the same high-lonesome sound as Bill Monroe and otherworldly harmonies of the Stanley Brothers, and count Bob Harris and Andy Kershaw amongst their fans. Supported by Mr Gavin McGinty and Friends.

Tickets available through City Box Office, The Woodlands Hotel (01382 480033)
and Groucho’s (01382 228 496).
