Home Introduction Programme Friday Saturday Sunday Monday Information

Sheena WellingtonFest ‘n Furious is back and it’s bigger, brighter and more diverse than ever with a packed programme featuring international stars and fresh local talent. Concerts, ceilidh, talks, workshops and sessions provide a rich mix of top quality sounds from the totally traditional to the newly minted.

TV’s fiery funky Red Hot Chilli Pipers share a Caird Hall bill with the brilliant Young Trad Tour;the Hunger Mountain Boys and Earl Brothers bring some authentic country ‘n bluegrass to the party and, by popular demand, The Peatbog Faeries are back in town!

The Friends of Wighton host talks and workshops in the Wighton Heritage Centre, as well as a Cappuccino Concert and masterclass with lute and guitar maestro Rob MacKillop.

Dundee people love making music and Choired For Sound, under the direction of Wilma Kennedy, will give choirs and singing groups from Dundee and beyond a chance to shine. Young musicians can show their style on the youth stage and everyone can have a ball at Mad Parrot’s Family Ceilidh.

Among this year’s new Fest venues are St Paul’s Cathedral with a Lunchtime Recital with Sheena Wellington and Ewen Sutherland and DCA’s Gallery 2 where clarsach star Catriona Mackay and Alistair MacDonald will take the tradition in a fresh direction. Keep checking the website for up to date info on sessions and artists and be prepared to enjoy!
